A public-school educator for nearly 40 years, Leila Koenig taught mainly at the high-school level, in Colorado, Kansas and Texas. She received a BS degree from Colorado State University and a MS degree from Texas A&M, Kingsville. She is a 35-year member of Delta Kappa Gamma, an international teacher honorary group.
She has held a variety of leadership positions in that group including serving as State President in Colorado. She has organized and presided over Regional and State meetings of the organization and presented workshops at the local, state, regional and international level.
As a member of the Family Support Group for her husband’s USAR unit, she helped plan family and unit celebrations. While serving as president of the FSG, she received the Commanding General’s award for promoting family readiness for reserve deployments that were occurring at that time.
At the ARC, Leila served as Recording Secretary with Carol Huebner and has served as Resident Council Secretary since 2024.
