Originally from Marshfield, WI along with his high school sweetheart, Cindy, he is a 1969 graduate of the US Coast Guard Academy. He holds an MS in Financial Management from the Naval Postgraduate School. In 27 years of active duty, he held command positions afloat and ashore. He retired as a Captain (O-6) and the Coast Guard’s Deputy Chief Financial Officer. He had a post-retirement career with Navy Mutual Aid Association where he retired as the senior vice president and CFO.
They have 6 children and 21 grandchildren. They moved to the ARC in November 2022.
