CAPT (Ret) Roxanne Tamez has over 27 years of experience leading people and managing resources as a U.S. Coast Guard search and rescue/operations officer. She retired from the military in July 2022 after serving in multiple high-visibility leadership positions with broad organizational responsibility including the development and implementation of strategic plans, objectives, and policy guidance. Throughout her career, she collaborated with industry leaders and multiple federal agencies, local and state governments, and Native American tribal nations. She also worked with international partners including countries and territories of the Caribbean and Pacific regions. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Social Sciences from the University of Houston-Downtown, a Master of Science in Information Systems Technology from The George Washington University, and since retiring from the military, has become a licensed registered nurse.
