COL (Ret) David Gilbertson is a seasoned leader with over 25 years of experience in healthcare and information technology. Currently serving as President and CEO of Virtual Health Informatics (VHI), he provides crucial support to federal agencies like the Defense Health Agency and the Department of Veterans Affairs. With extensive expertise in medical informatics, David’s career spans C-level positions in government, academia, and industry, alongside a distinguished 27-year military career. He holds a master’s degree in medical informatics from Stanford University and a bachelor’s in business administration from the University of Georgia. He previously served nine years on the Board of Directors for CommuniCare, a large Federal Qualified Health Center. He is currently on the board for the University of Texas at San Antonio College of Health, Community, and Policy and volunteers for Stanford Office of Undergraduate Admissions. David is married to Nancy Gilbertson and has two adult sons, Nicholas and Zachary.
