The Long-Term Care (LTC) Ombudsman advocates for AL and HCC Residents by addressing any concerns. Residents are free to choose the Ombudsman’s level of involvement. The Ombudsman respects Residents’ privacy and confidentiality. An Ombudsman completes state-supported training and is certified by the state LTC Ombudsman.
The LTC Ombudsman:
- informs Residents of rights
- empowers Residents/families while interacting with staff
- advocates for quality of life/quality care
- supports Resident directed care
- ensures dignified treatment of Residents
- identifies and resolves Resident concerns
