Residents are entitled to a meal credit under the following circumstances, and providing all conditions are met.
Vacation or Voluntary Absence Credit: Residents planning to be away from the ARC for 7 or more consecutive days must complete and submit an “Absence from ARC” form prior to departure. The form is available at the High Rise Front Desk and on the Resident Portal. Residents may choose 1 of the following:
- Receive a meal credit per individual for each day of absence with a minimum of 7 days. The DD balance will also be reduced by the standard DD per day equivalent for the same number of days the credit is requested for when the Resident chooses this option. If the Resident does not have sufficient DD to cover total of the amount needed for a minimum of 7 days, then nothing will be removed from the account and credit will not be issued.
- Retain the full balance of DD by declining the meal credit above.
Hospitalization Credit: A Resident must make a credit request through the Front Desk if hospitalized. Residents will receive credit to the monthly statement for each day of absence. Credit will be computed in accordance with length of hospitalization. The DD balance will be reduced by the standard DD equivalent for the same number of days.
Health Care Credit: If a Resident from Independent Living requires a stay in the HCC, the Resident will receive credit on the monthly statement for each day in HCC. Daily credit will be computed in accordance with length of stay. The DD balance will be reduced by the daily dining dollar equivalent for the same number of days. Residents in HCC on a temporary stay receive 3 meals a day in the HCC.
Refer to Appendix F for the current meal credit rate and DD equivalent.
