**Do Not Use**

The Conductor

By Pat McWilliam

I am a nature lover. Being able to travel the world and experience a variety of God’s natural wonders has been a true blessing.

Recently, a friend and I took a two-week cruise and tour to Alaska. We were warned about the possibility of bad weather and all manner of problems that might keep us from experiencing the beauty and wildlife.

As it turned out, we were very fortunate that the weather was perfect, and we always seemed to be in the right place at the right time. We saw Denali from three different viewpoints, had grizzly bears within ten yards of our bus, watched dozens of bald eagles roosting, and much more.

However, the most impressive experience happened when we were on a small boat and thirteen humpback whales, in a large circle, proceeded to do “bubble fishing” very near us. I tend to delight in what God provides for us, but watching those whales was so profound that I was unable to speak, or even move. I only remember the tears and praising the Lord.

Watching those thirteen magnificent whales repeat that feeding frenzy several times, leaping from the sea in a well-coordinated orchestration, as if a giant conductor was leading them, was more than I could understand. Then I realized that is exactly what was happening. That Conductor should be followed.
