Dining Room Supervisor

JOB TITLE: Dining Room Supervisor

POSITION REPORTS TO: Director, Food Service

FSLA STATUS: Non - Exempt

PURPOSE OF JOB: Under the general supervision of the Dining Service Manager and subject to the service policy and procedures manual, assures constantly and consistently the creation of maximum resident satisfaction and dining pleasure.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Defines and explains clearly for Wait/Bus Staff their responsibilities for relationships with each other, the residents, the Dining Service Manager, and other kitchen personnel.
  • Schedules dining room reservations for residents.
  • Greets and seats residents cordially and courteously to assure them of a sincere welcome and genuine interest in their dining pleasure.
  • Inspects dining room serving stations for neatness and cleanliness, and requisitions table linens and other dining room supplies for tables and serving stations.
  • Using a job breakdown and training plan, trains new employees, as well as current employees in need of training.
  • Corrects promptly any deviations from established standards.
  • On emergency occasions may actually serve guests (staff shortages – perform duties of Wait/Bus Staff), act as cashier or perform duties specifically assigned by the Dining Service Manager or Director of Dining Service.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Dining Service Manager or Director of Dining Service

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma

ENVIRONMENTAL, PHYSICAL, AND OTHER CONDITIONS:

  • Must pass pre-employment requirements (criminal background check, drug screening, etc.) in accordance with regulatory and accrediting agencies

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $14.00 per hour
